the mathematics of solitude

crack an apple-split
into halves-perfect
obtuse angles-step
on a crack-refract
reflect-I live alone
break-drop symbols
make clang clang sounds
three three three
I live alone-one shadow
knows another-multiply
give us a kiss-no
subtract-reject reject
maybe divide so we're left
again again

This is so perfectly wistful, and I love the title.

There is such interesting wordplay here, as much 'heard' as seen, and like the melding of math with the underlying idea. It is as much loneliness as solitude, in an arc of calm, frenzy, and calm again.

Such a sense of sadness in this, but so nicely done. The way you worded every line is beautiful!
